"Lasting world peace can only exist on the basis of happiness. Without happiness there can be no lasting world peace. We are all made of Bliss. Only we need to EXPERIENCE our own nature, to be happy in life." Learn how here.

No more in-depth pages about Transcendental Meditation.

I will not be writing any more in-depth pages about Transcendental Meditation.

The TM movement has their official website tm.org, and there are Governors who have been teaching Transcendental Meditation for 20+ years who are way more qualified than me to write about TM. I can however tell people about my personal experience with Transcendental Meditation.

You know why people like reading reviews on Amazon.com? WE DON'T CARE what the manufacturer of the product has to say! WE DON'T CARE because we know if there's anything bad about the product they won't tell us. Their income depends on it. We want to know WHAT THE AVERAGE JOE thought of the product. Is it any good? Did it break?

That's why I have no reservation about sharing my personal experience with Transcendental Meditation and the TM-SIDHI program because they have truly saved/changed my life.

After doing some soul-searching, I believe the way for me to do my part to help change the world is not to write about Transcendental Meditation. Anyone out there in the world who wants to know about Transcendental Meditation will Google "Transcendental Meditation" and end up on tm.org. End of story. That's already happened. 95% of the people who have had a curiosity about TM have already googled it. Where are the new meditators going to come from?

I want to reach the OTHER PEOPLE, people who don't know there is a better way. People who are doing Google searches for things OTHER THAN TRANSCENDENTAL MEDITATION, and I want to show them that there is in fact A BETTER WAY. A way to be happy in life. Because as Maharishi Mahesh Yogi says "We ARE made of Bliss. Bliss is our own nature. Only we need to EXPERIENCE it, and Transcendental Meditation is the way to experience our own nature."

The tm.org website has been getting about 10,000 unique visitors per month through 2008. The visits spiked to about 30,000 unique visitors in the month of February 2008 when His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi entered his Mahasamadhi. The visits have been hovering around 10,000 unique visitors per month ever since.

Visits from the U.S. only:

My website currently gets about 10 times that amount of traffic. After doing some thinking, I believe the best way I can help promote Transcendental Meditation is not writing about Transcendental Meditation, it's about writing what I usually write about, which is natural health, and include links to tm.org and to my Transcendental Meditation page, which also points to tm.org.

February 14, 2009 UPDATE:

I checked the stats this morning, and here are the actual numbers:

Using January data (Remember that February only shows 13 days):

13,000 unique visitors per day

21,000 page views per day

for a total of about 350,000 unique visitors per month.

This is NOT about how great my website is. (I think my site is downright ugly if you ask me). It's about the fact that there is a great opportunity here to introduce a lot of people to the life-changing technique of Transcendental Meditation.

That's how I can do my part to help our world family. His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi said in a talk in 1960: "It is only necessary to broadcast this message, so that the masses at large, the people at large, may hear it, practice it, and be happy in their life".

Continuing to write about natural health on my website and making sure that I include links to tm.org and my own personal experience with Transcendental Meditation, is my Dharma, my "duty in life". This is what I'm supposed to do.

Dr. David Lynch and Transcendental Meditation

Why is Dr. David Lynch so successful at getting our young people's attention on Transcendental Meditation, which Dr. Lynch has practiced for 30+ years? Why is he able to fill entire stadiums full of kids in Brazil and talk to them about Transcendental Meditation? BECAUSE HE'S INTERESTING. HE'S CREATIVE.

Dr. David Lynch is involved with a number of art forms, but he is most famous because of the popular movies he has directed. Dr. Lynch wrote a book about Transcendental Meditation. What did he entitle it? "Catching the Big Fish".

Now that's a title! What is this? A book about fishing? That's the kind of genius that David Lynch has. Don't call the book "Transcendental Meditation and all its benefits for the individual and society as a whole". You can already hear the kids snoring. If you're David Lynch, you call the book "Catching the Big Fish". Something that doesn't turn off young people the minute they hear it. What a concept.

People get hooked by David Lynch's movies, they get an interest, a curiosity about his movies, and when they find out that this amazing movie was created by a long time practitioner of TM, they start to think "Hey, maybe this TM thing is for me too...".

That's how you spread Maharishi's knowledge far and wide.

When I wrote my page on the Maharishi Effect, I spent half the page talking about Philip K. Dick's brilliant short story "Minority Report". Why? Because Philip K. Dick's "Minority Report" is an incredibly imaginative story about consciousness, destiny, prevention of crime in society.

Someone gets on Google, they do a Google search about the movie "Minority Report". They are interested in this movie. They want to know more about it. It's a movie about consciousness, destiny, prevention of crime in society. These are exactly the kinds of people who will HAVE AN OPEN MIND to something called "Transcendental Meditation".

That's why I spent half the page talking about Philip K. Dick's "Minority Report". Whoever does not understand this should perhaps stick to what they do best, and I'll stick to what I do best.

If you want to spread Maharishi's knowledge, don't write a page about Maharishi. The people who know about Maharishi already know about Transcendental Meditation.

You want to spread the message of Transcendental Meditation? WRITE ABOUT SOMETHING ELSE AND THEN MENTION TM. This way the poor souls out there who are suffering in life and to whom it never occured to Google something called "Transcendental Meditation" will somehow run into this supremely important information in spite of their not knowing about TM or Maharishi.

My mood today is somewhat "frustrated", and therefore it looks like there won't be any JOKE WORDS on today's page and I'm going to start including the new JOKE WORDS on the next page I write.

Oh, what the heck, maybe just one. Why not. OK, mouse-over HERE.

Jai Guru Dev

Marc
