Are there herbs other than silymarin which are useful for liver detoxification?

Milk thistle extracts containing silymarin is the best defined nutrition for protecting liver, in terms of the clinical, and anecdotal evidences and scientific accountability.

However, there are several herbs that are anecdotally known to protect and promote the health of liver. These non-Milk thistle liver herbs might also contain a number of liver-benefitting phytochemicals, and yet none of them have been identified thus far.

The effects of most phytonutritions are in fact indirect and broad, rather than showing specific actions or side effects like some of synthetic drugs do. Vegetables in general may be benefitial for liver as well as health in general.

Here are some herbs that are believed to boost liver health.

Arctium lappa (Burdock Root)
Artemisia vulgaris
Corydalis turtschaninovii
Cyperus rotundus
Daucus carota (carrot)
Schisandra chinensis(Schizandra )
Taraxacum officinale(Dandelion )
Terminalia catappa(Indian Almond)
