Transcendental Meditation is a beautiful gift

In the summer of 2007, I attended a weekend residence course in Transcendental Meditation.

WOW. What a wonderful experience.

I was instructed in Transcendental Meditation many years ago, and I have to admit that I have not been as regular in my practice of TM as I should have been. I was married to a woman at the time who would look at me sometimes and say "You know, these meditation things just make people crazy".

Don't believe it.

Learning Transcendental Meditation is one of the best things you can do for yourself. Come to think of it, learning Transcendental Meditation is one of the best things you can do for the people YOU LOVE. Your children, your spouse, your friends will notice changes in you, how much calmer and happier you are, how problems don't seem to bother you as much.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, founder of TM, who can been seen on the Maharishi channel on the internet, has been giving the world a beautiful gift for the past 50 or so years - Transcendental Meditation.

You in turn can give yourself and those you love a beautiful gift by learning this simple effortless mental technique, and watch things get better.

So many of our health problems are completely caused by our BEHAVIOUR. We drink, we smoke, we eat dead foods. We're the ones doing this to ourselves! When one starts practicing transcendental meditation, one's behaviour spontaneously starts to improve. One gradually stops smoking/drinking/abusing their bodies not because they are struggling to use their willpower, but EFFORTLESSLY, because when one starts practicing transcendental meditation, one's behaviour spontaneously becomes aligned with Natural Law.

Transcendental meditation is the MOST SATISFYING EXPERIENCE THERE IS, FOR THE MIND. When the mind transcends, it finds such beauty, such joy, peace and fulfillment, that all the worldly pleasures pale in comparison. Transcending is more satisfying to the mind that drinking alcohol, more satisfying than s-e-x, more satisfying than watching a good movie. It is better than all of those things.

Transcendental meditation is effortless

Transcendental meditation is easy, effortless. In fact, if you are putting any work in it, it may be some other form of meditation, but it's not Transcendental Meditation! The mind is invited to effortlessly dive within, which the mind does spontaneously because the mind's nature is to go toward greater happiness and beauty.

Transcendental meditation is a simple mental technique which allows the mind to gradually experience subtler and subtler states of thought, until the mind transcends even the subtlest state of thought, and experiences absolute silence, BLISS CONSCIOUSNESS.

TM is for you, me, all human beings no matter their religious beliefs or education level. All that is needed is to be instructed in the simple technique, and to practice regularly, morning and evening. We meditate, then go out into the world and become involved in activity. Then we meditate again at night, and perform more activity.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, founder of the Transcendental Meditation movement, explains that it is the cycle of transcendental meditation and activity, which eventually allows the mind to maintain that state of bliss consciousness at all times, no matter what activity one might be involved in at the time. One could be in the middle of a very chaotic environment, but one's mind remains connected to that sublime field of absolute silence and bliss that is the basis of everything. This activity/meditation cycle gradually brings more and more of the transcendental bliss into our life.

I would also encourage you to invest in yourself by reading these important books about transcendental meditation:
