"Lasting world peace can only exist on the basis of happiness. Without happiness there can be no lasting world peace. We are all made of Bliss. Only we need to EXPERIENCE our own nature, to be happy in life." Learn how here.

Being blissful and minding my own bidness.

August 20, 2010

Actually, "Being blissful" is an oxymoron. As Maharishi explains, one can not be anything but blissful while Being. If one is not blissful, then we are not dealing with "Being". But that title will do for today. I wanted to put the word "Being" in there because I love-a-talking-a-to-Google.

These days, I'm enjoying the bliss inside Patanjali's Golden Dome of Pure Knowledge - which by the way is the happiest place on earth - and I am minding my own bidness. What is "bidness"? Nonya bidness!

In the book "Living with the Himalayan Masters", Swami Rama tells the story of a recluse who is visited by a prince. The prince tells the recluse "Sir, you seem to be lonesome".

The recluse says "Yes, because you have come. Before you came I was enjoying the company of my Friend within. Now that you have come I am lonesome."

The quote above perfectly describes how I have felt most of my life.

The highest of all companionship is the company of the self.

I remember my poor father, who was so unhappy in his marriage and who yelled at and criticized me for 16 years before throwing me out of his home, I remember him asking me: "Marc, don't you feel the need to be with people?" I remember shrugging slowly and answering "No... I don't..."

My being "alone", enjoying my solitude was a problem for HIM, not for me.
